The Mayor of Bracknell Forest, Cllr Naheed Ejaz, and her Consort, Diwan Khan, attended the Berkshire Judicial Service last week, at Reading Minster Church of St Mary the Virgin.
This is a ceremonial occasion to mark the start of the Judicial year. It is also an opportunity for all those in the Royal County of Berkshire who are involved in the administration of justice, law and order, local government and the many charitable organisations, to join together for an important church service, organised by the High Sheriff of Berkshire, maintaining an ancient and historic tradition.
The High Sheriff chose the theme of the service, which this year was Young People and the Law. The choir of Ludgrove School and the Reading Community Gospel Choir provided uplifting music.
They also took part in the Civic procession of the Lord Lieutenant, Berkshire Mayors and Chairman, to the Minster from the Civic Offices in Bridge Street, Reading.
