Getting around in the lead-up to Christmas has just got easier. Bracknell Forest Council is offering free single bus rides on Thames Valley Buses and Reading Buses for the first four Saturdays in December.
Funded by the Department for Transport, this offer allows anyone to board a bus in Bracknell Forest for free. Passengers travelling out of the borough will need to pay for the return trip. Anyone can enjoy this benefit on 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd December, regardless of their destination. The offer will not be available on 30 December.
Seasoned bus travellers and newcomers are all welcome. Passengers can plan their journey on the My Journey Bracknell Forest website.
Cllr Guy Gillbe, Executive Member for Planning and Transport, said: “There are so many positives to this initiative, and we are thrilled to be able to offer this to locals and visitors to the borough.
“Christmas can be a hard time financially, so being able to take a bus ride for free will really make a difference. Whether you are going shopping, eating out or visiting one of our award-winning parks, our bus network is an efficient, eco-friendly way of getting there.
“If you are yet to use our bus network, I would really encourage you to take up this offer and see how easy it can be.”
