A local radio station is back on air this week with a relaunch after a broadcasting break.
Radio Marmalade broadcasts a mix of live and recorded programming 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from their studio in Bracknell. It is a radio station run by people with disabilities for the benefit of the community.
They are an inclusive internet radio station with a diverse range of programmes where their DJs plan, host and broadcast their own shows and help with the running of the station, learning new digital skills and building their confidence and communication skills.
Following covid and a small refit they relaunched the station this week with a 73-hour Radio Marathon from Tuesday 21st November until Friday 24th November.
The station is part of The Ark services, a group that works with people in the South East of England with disabilities and/or long term health conditions, with carers of people with disabilities and/or long term health conditions and with young people who are not in education, employment or training.
The Ark also supports the community and voluntary sector in the area of operation of the charity, for the benefit of the public and to ensure the equality for all people to engage in citizenship.
We are a user led organisation which means that when planning projects, services and activities we make sure they meet our objectives and aims. To help us do this we co-produce with our members and beneficiaries to establish what help and support they need ensuring our existing work and future plans meet their needs and continue to during delivery of the service. This ethos begins at the top of The Ark as 75% of our trustee board are people who could use our services.
