Bracknell Colts 1st XV played Maidenhead Colts 1st XV in a hotly contested OBB Div 1 fixture on Sunday 26th Nov at home.
The wintery and wet conditions made fast-flowing rugby difficult, but Bracknell made an explosive start with a try in the first 4 minutes from Jack Rhodes who took a fantastic line and used his rapid pace to score in the corner.
Maidenhead then fought back into the game penning Bracknell into their own half for long periods and scoring two forward-based tries. The conditions made kicking very difficult and with none of the tries converted the halftime score was 10-5 to Maidenhead.
The second half was a complete turnaround with Bracknell having large periods of dominating both possession and territory. The game and was hard fought all over the pitch with total commitment from both sides. Maidenhead went down to 14 players after a yellow card for persistent infringements meaning Bracknell could secure 3pts from the boot of Ross Lubbe, further pressure brought another penalty which Ross Lubbe again banged between the posts to take the score Bracknell 11 Maidenhead 10.
Bracknell held on for the last 6 minutes for a tight win showing huge character and fight.
