More than 200 staff from retailers, restaurants, cafés, leisure and other services within The Lexicon, gathered at Cineworld for the third Lexicon Awards presentation evening.
The awards celebrate teams and individuals working within the town centre that have delivered outstanding levels of customer service throughout the year.
More than 7,000 votes were received from visitors to The Lexicon, for their favourites in each award category, which combined with mystery shoppers formed the basis of the judging process.
Rob Morris, general manager at The Lexicon said: “We were blown away by the number of public votes, which underlines the importance to everyone of receiving a warm welcome and great customer service, when visiting the town centre.
“The awards are a great way for those who work in The Lexicon to get together and we were delighted to formally acknowledge the people and teams that have been recognised as providing excellent customer service over the past year.”
Cllr Paul Bidwell, executive member for economic development and regeneration, added: “I was honoured to give out an award last night. It was fantastic to see the hard-working staff in the town centre recognised for their excellence.“
