Thames Valley Police has launched an investigation following the death of a woman in Bracknell.
The force was called by South Central Ambulance Service at 7.41am on Tuesday (4/6) to reports of a sudden death in Jameston, Bracknell.
Paramedics tried to save the victim’s life, but tragically the victim, a 26-year-old woman from Bagshot, Surrey, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Her next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A 27-year-old man from Woking has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Peter Clarke, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “Firstly, my thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
“We are in the very early stages of this investigation, and although we have made an arrest, I would urge the public not to speculate on the circumstances of the woman’s death, which is being treated as unexplained at this time.
“There is currently a cordon in place at Jameston and will be in place for some time to allow our officers and staff to carry out enquiries at the scene, including forensic examinations.
“We are also carrying out house to house enquiries in the area as well as obtaining and reviewing CCTV.
“If anyone has any information or footage from the area of Jameston and hasn’t already spoken to the police, please contact us as soon as possible.
“You can do so by calling 101, or visit our website, quoting the unique reference number for this investigation, which is 354 of 4 June.
“If anybody has any concerns, you can address these with any officers at the scene.”
