Steppin Out Stars of Tomorrow Theatre Schools announced the student winners for 2024 at their ‘A Night At The Oscars’ award ceremony at Emmbrook Senior School recently.
The annual award ceremony is held every year and attended by students, staff, families and friends. This year’s ceremony was presented by Steppin Out Patron Matt Stirling, who took time out of his busy schedule to personally deliver the awards to each student. Congratulatory videos were also shown from the schools other Patron’s Emma Barton, Tom Chambers and Vikki Manser – each of whom have an award in their name.
Over 50 awards, medals and trophies were given out to current students in categories including kindness, enthusiasm, progress and personality, along with tap, singing, dance, drama and ballet.

The evening opened with an exclusive performance from Steppin Out teachers Ellie Furness- Hughes and Ruby Lott and also included a performance from Steppin Out’s Troupe.
It tops off a fantastic year for CEO Shelley Otway-Wood who has seen her theatre schools go from strength to strength. 2024 has seen a string of business awards including a Silver international Stevie Award for Women in Business, Winner at the Parents & Baby Awards for Best Local Children’s Theatre School – Home Counties, 2 Silver trophies at The Best Businesswomen Awards and Winner at the SME News Southern Enterprise Awards for Children’s Theatre School of the Year 2024 – Berkshire.
Eliza Jupp, aged seven, said: “The awards night was super super. We got to wear special dresses and it was extra fun for me as I won one of the awards!!!”
Steppin Out Stars of Tomorrow offer musical theatre classes in Wokingham and Woodley for 4-17 year olds. The school helps develop and encourage a love of performing arts, builds confidence and friendships, improves social skills and gives children a weekly escape from the pressures of school.
