Councillor Naheed Ejaz was officially sworn in as the Mayor of the Borough of Bracknell Forest on 24 May 2023. Representing the ward of Great Hollands North, Cllr Ejaz has had deep ties with Bracknell for over 40 years.
Having settled in the borough four decades ago, all five of Naheed’s children were born and raised here. Beyond her service in the council, she has a master’s in political science and is on track to earn a PHD. As an entrepreneur, she has ventured into several businesses in the past 20 years. Currently, she stands as the owner of a company dedicated to providing transportation for children with special needs.
Cllr Ejaz aims to intensify her engagement with local businesses, schools, charities, and the voluntary sector. Coining the term ‘Communi-versity,’ she describes the borough as a hub of shared ideas, wisdom, and collaborative efforts, all aimed at fostering prosperity. Accompanying her in her mayoral duties will be her son, Diwan Khan, who will serve as her Consort.
Expressing her sentiments, the Mayor stated, “I’m profoundly honoured to be elected as the Mayor of Bracknell. This borough has been my home for 40 years, and it holds a special place in my heart. As we embark on this journey, my mission is to connect with all communities that call our borough home.”
