The NatWest branch in Bracknell has announced it will be closing its doors permanently from September.
A spokesman for NatWest said: “The way customers like to bank with us has changed, with an increased demand for mobile and online services, as our customers benefit from a faster and easier way to bank. Closing a branch is a decision we take very seriously, and we’re committed to helping our customers manage their money online as well as through in–person banking.”
Statistics revealed a dramatic drop in visits to the branch between 2019 and 2023. “Closing a branch is a difficult decision and not one we take lightly. We understand that this branch closure may be challenging for many and we’re working hard to help prepare our customers and colleagues for closure.”
The branch, located at 5, High Street, will close on September 4th.
NatWest is planning to introduce a community pop-up following the closure that will be based in a community venue near to the closing branch. The service will be available for up to 12 weeks and will provide information on how customers can use their local Post Office for cash-based transactions.
Bracknell is reportedly one of 80 branches NatWest is planning to close this year.
