The Lexicon Bracknell Half Marathon returns for its 40th year on Sunday 12th May 2024.
Organised by Everyone Active, on behalf of Bracknell Forest Council and Bracknell Leisure Centre, the race will take shape as one large lap of Bracknell. Most of the route will be on roads, footpaths and cycleways, with a short section of grass running.
Sponsored by The Lexicon, the half marathon is ideal for those looking for a training target, or to raise money for a charity, with more than 1,000 runners expected to attend.
In celebration of its 40th year, Everyone Active will be offering 40 free places, awarded through social media competitions in the months leading up to the event.
All runners will receive a finisher’s medal, with prizes up for grabs for top finishers.
Mark Tennant, Everyone Active’s contract manager said:
“We’re delighted to be working alongside Bracknell Forest Council and The Lexicon again to host such a fantastic event. We’re looking forward to welcoming new and returning athletes of all abilities and we would love to see as many local supporters as possible cheer on our runners across the 13-mile route.”
Rob Morris, general manager for The Lexicon, added:
“The Lexicon Half Marathon has become an important, and much looked forward to, part of The Lexicon’s events calendar. It is great to see so many local runners alongside those from further afield. And, of course, the local community who come and cheer on all the athletes taking part.”
Cllr Iskandar Jefferies, Executive Member for Culture, Delivery and Public Protection, said:
“Taking part in a half marathon is a huge achievement. Each runner, whether they are a seasoned athlete or first-time participant, is a true inspiration to take on such a challenge. We can’t wait to see the runners cross that finish line for next year’s half marathon and celebrate their efforts.”
The entry fee has been held at last year’s price of £27.50.
Runners can sign up on the Everyone Active website.
