Local charities, community groups, and faith organisations are being invited to apply for grants of up to £15,000 to help Bracknell Forest residents who are struggling financially.
The funding, made available through the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), is aimed at supporting projects that directly help households in crisis—particularly with energy costs, food, and essential items.
What Can the Grant Be Used For?
Groups can apply for one-off grants to run activities or deliver services that prevent or ease hardship. This could include:
Breakfast clubs in schools
Holiday hunger programmes for families
Supplying energy-efficient household items to tackle fuel poverty
Who Can Apply?
Organisations must be working to support people in Bracknell Forest and include:
Registered charities
Voluntary and community groups
Resident and tenant associations
Parent-teacher associations
Not-for-profits like community interest companies
National charities or faith groups (if the project benefits the wider local community)
Council Support
Grainne Siggins, Executive Director for People at Bracknell Forest Council, said:
“We’re pleased to offer this DWP funding to local organisations who are making a real difference in our community. Many residents are still facing financial pressure, and we know local groups often reach people who may not be directly in touch with the council.
We’re especially looking for projects that help with food costs, energy and water bills, and other essentials.”
