Community comes together for successful litter pick
Volunteers from local businesses were out in force recently as part of a series of organised ‘Tidy Days’ to clean up Bracknell. The success of Bracknell Business Improvement District’s (BID) eighth community litter pick marked another significant milestone in its ongoing efforts to enhance the general condition and appearance of the Southern and Western Business Areas. Originally launched in March 2022 as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s ‘Great British Spring Clean’ campaign, Bracknell BID’s ‘Tidy Day’ sessions now take place throughout the year, providing a great opportunity for local business owners and employees to give back to their community. Over a lunchtime period, enthusiastic volunteers from local organisations donate their time, don hi-vis vests, gloves and wield litter pickers as they head out to help tidy up the BID area, regularly collecting over 40 bags of litter a time. Kevin Morrison, Finance Director from Midwich Ltd said: “It’s a well-deserved break from the office, getting out in the fresh air and helping to serve our local community in the process.
