Search teams from Thames Valley Police, Berkshire Lowland Search & Rescue and Berkshire Search & Rescue Dogs located a woman’s body at just after 10.30 am near Foresters Way, Bracknell.
Although formal identification has not yet taken place, we believe this to be the body of missing person Gail, aged 47, from Wokingham, who was reported missing at around 11pm last night (27/7).
Her next of kin have been notified and are being offered support.
The death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
T/Superintendent Helen Kenny, Bracknell and Wokingham Commander, said:
“Very sadly, after an extensive search, we have located the body of a woman this morning.We are offering support to her next of kin, and on behalf of Thames Valley Police, I extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends at this extremely difficult time.”
Earlier Police Appeal
We are appealing for the public’s help in tracing a missing woman from Wokingham. Gail, aged 47, from Wokingham was reported missing at around 11pm last night.
She is described as white, 5ft 8 ins tall, average build, curly shoulder length hair, wears glasses, wearing brown loose trousers, a purple round necked top, and flat tan and white shoes.
Investigating officer Inspector Dave Keenan, said:
“We are concerned for the welfare of Gail and we have been carrying out enquiries to locate her.
“We believe that she may have travelled to the Crown Estate Woods in Bracknell and we have been searching that area.
“We are asking for the public’s help in tracing Gail. If anyone has seen someone matching her description or knows where she might be then we would ask us to please get in touch and call 101 quoting reference 2518 27/07/22”
