Residents of Bracknell and the surrounding area gathered in the town with Pride at the weekend.
The family-friendly event celebrated and supported the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community. It was all about welcoming local people in unity and solidarity, enjoying the day in love and friendship.
The first hour was a quiet hour, where visitors could speak with organisations for support and advice before acts took to the stage.
For the first time, there was an accessible parade around the town centre, that everyone could be involved in.
There was no official after party, but guests were encouraged to snap and share their selfies with the giant letters in Princess Square, visit MAC in Union Square for free MacXimal Lip or glitter touch-up, and catch live performances in Bond Square, hosted by the vibrant sassy Drag Queen Bunny Gallore!
Entertainment was suitable for adults and children alike with free glitter stations for over eights and face-painting for all. Plus, there was PRIDE colouring in at Princess Square with Craft Coop for a chance to win a The Lexicon gift card
The Hot Dogs kicked off the entertainment, a dynamic brass band performing funk and pop covers in a New Orleans street style.
Appearing twice as the drag king with the violin was Frankie Heartless. Having trained as a classical violinist and singer, they now bring their rockstar energy to the cabaret scene, guaranteeing a multi-genre, electrifying performance.
The enchanted tale of Beauty and the Beast, ‘as old as time’, was brought to you by a cast of local talent and an award-winning creative team from South Hill Park.
The Born Gaga high energy show was packed with replica costumes, iconic choreography and 100 per cent live vocals!
The Bracknell Neighbourhood Team was also on hand at the Bracknell Pride 2024 event. Their police van was there, allowing the public to see another vehicle from their fleet…and the cage where the naughty people go!
A spokesman said: “It was great to speak with attendees, who were grateful for our attendance, allowing them to feel safe and enjoy a great day! Thanks to Bracknell Forest Council for organising another impressive event!”
